Cloudy skies and lots of rain: Alicante weekend weather February 20-23
The weekend will be washout in parts of Alicante, with heavy rain forecast all day Saturday
Weather outlook on Saturday February 22
Alicante usually misses the worst of the bad weather but the province won’t be so lucky this weekend. A front is due to sweep across Spain from Friday and by Saturday, most of Alicante province will be damp, dull and fairly chilly.
Thursday February 20
The day will start off with cloudy intervals and misty fog banks inland, with temperatures remaining relatively unchanged.
As the day progresses, the clouds will clear slightly, making way for a light variable wind with moderate northerly gusts on the northern coast in the morning. In the afternoon, the wind will shift to a light southerly breeze.
Friday February 21
Friday will be marked by cloudy skies, but the day should remain dry. Daytime temperatures, however, will take a nosedive, only reaching highs of 18ºC or 19ºC.
The breeze will be light, with a predominance of southern winds.
Saturday February 22
Saturday will be very dull and dreary, with mostly cloudy skies throughout the province. The rain will start in the early morning and last most of the day, becoming thundery in Alicante city and Elche in the afternoon.
By evening, the showers will have started to clear up and the rain should be confined to the north of the province.
Daytime temperatures will climb into the 20s along the coast with few changes expected elsewhere.
Sunday February 23
The rain will persist throughout Sunday in most towns north of Benidorm, but the south of Alicante should remain dry. It will still be rather cloudy, with some clearings in the afternoon.
Daytime temperatures will dip by a degree or two anywhere the rain hits, but few changes are expected elsewhere.
The winds will be moderate from the north and northeast on the coast, decreasing in the afternoon except in Alicante, where they will remain fairly blustery.

- Thursday February 20: Min 7ºC; Max 22ºC
- Friday February 21: Min 8ºC; Max 19ºC
- Saturday February 22: Min 8ºC; Max 22ºC
- Sunday February 23: Min 6ºC; Max 21ºC
