Computer glitch causes long lines at Cartagena Civil Registry
Appointment system failure sparks long waits at Cartagena Civil Registry as locals face frustration and demand urgent action

The political party MC (Citizens' Movement of Cartagena) raised alarms on Thursday, placing responsibility directly on the Ministry of Justice. Councilor María Antonia Pérez Galindo said, "This is not a minor error, but rather a violation of citizens' right to access public services under decent conditions."
MC also demanded immediate action from the new regional government delegate, Francisco Lucas, urging him to restore normal service as quickly as possible. They criticised the local government for its silence despite the issue's impact on residents, declaring, "Cartagena doesn't deserve lines; it deserves solutions. We can no longer tolerate our residents being treated like second-class citizens for mistakes that no one corrects and for governments that look the other way."
The ongoing problems at the Civil Registry highlight the challenges people face accessing essential services, especially in today’s digital era where booking systems should make life easier, not harder.
