ARCHIVED - Covid restrictions eased in the Balearic Islands as perimeter closure is removed
The perimeter closure of the Balearic Islands is lifted
As the measures put into place across the whole country by the Spanish government for the holidays come to an end, the Balearic Islands have decided to return to pre-Easter restrictions.
The authorities in the Balearic Islands have agreed to open the regional borders and allow up to six people from a maximum of two households to meet in private places, as was the case before Easter, Government spokesman Iago Negueruela has announced.
The interiors of bars and restaurants in Mallorca will remain closed for two further weeks as the island remains in level 2. Ibiza will also move to level 2 restrictions.
Menorca and Formentera will remain in level 1.
