The Águilas cultural programme for the beginning of the year is packed full of interesting events for all audiences
Águilas Town Hall has presented its quarterly cultural programme for the first three months of this year, including a series of dance shows, concerts and exhibitions. Here’s what’s happening in Águilas in the coming months:
January
The Águilas cultural programme kicked off last Saturday with the play “Castelvines & Monteses” by the company Barco Pirata. On January 28, the town will host the 5th Promúsica concert, and on January 29 there will be a children’s musical “Musical Tribute to Cantajuegos”.
February
In February, there will be a dance festival “Segunda piel” (‘Second skin’) by the Mercedes Ruiz company, which will be held on Friday 11. Also in February, there will be the exhibition “Enfermedades raras” from February 11-28, and the 6th Promúsica concert on February 19.
March
March will see the inauguration of the exhibition “Transition” by Ariel Montalbán, which you can see from March 4-25, as well as the 7th Promúsica concert on March 5, the Sinergia Carnival dance festival on March 6 and the collective exhibition “Miradas de mujer” (‘Looks of a woman’) from March 8-27.
Finally, there will be a dance festival called “Aguanile Dance” on March 13 and the opera Nabucco on March 27. For more opera and classical music concerts in Águilas, see our specialist programme running right up to the end of June.
The Councillor for Culture in Águilas has reminded anyone who wants to come to any of these events that “culture in Águilas is safe and that all scheduled activities comply strictly with the anti-Covid protocol”.

Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)
Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.
The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
