The annual “Domingo Valdivieso” open-air painting competition is being held for the 20th time on December 2, starting at 8.00 in the Casas Consistoriales, with all members of the public aged 16 or over welcome to take part as long as they are resident in Spain.
As ever, the competition coincides with the local fiestas and is expected to attract painters from all over Spain, although in an effort to make it more accessible to local artists, particularly younger ones, it has been brought forward so as not to coincide with the national holidays on December 6 and 8. The topic of the paintings on the day will be “Landscapes of Mazarrón” and the artwork must be on canvas of between 65x50 and 120x65 cm. Full competition rules can be found here.
Registration is free of charge and further information is available on 659 081209.
