This free tour of the most important and representative monumental buildings in Caravaca, which takes place just before the start of the Holy Jubilee Year in the city in 2024, begins at the Basílica-Santuario de la Santísima y Vera Cruz at 10.30. This is the building which houses the holy relic which prompted Pope John Paul II to award the 7-yearly Jubilee to Caravaca, and from here your official tour guide takes you on a walk through the city centre to see the monasteries and churches of some of the many religious orders which established themselves here in the past, creating beautiful palatial buildings to match those of the lay noblemen of north-western Murcia.
The tour, which is in Spanish, is free of charge but prior registration is required online here.
For further details and information contact the tourist office of Caravaca de la Cruz (Calle de las Monjas, 19, telephone 968 702424 / 968 701003, email turismo@caravacadelacruz.es).
