The new green space has involved the planting of 160 trees in Juan Benitez in Estepona, Malaga.
As Estepona council works to improve public spaces throughout the municipality, a new green space has been completed to provide an outdoor area for locals and tourists ahead of the summer.
The new space near to the A-7 measures 10,000 and has been planted out with 160 trees, including 60 Mediterranean varieties. The further 100 trees have been planted out as a hedge to shield the view of the nearby motorway.
The council has also created a picnic area with five tables for families to enjoy, as well as new street furniture.
The space, which had previously been left disused, was remodelled as part of a plan to increase the number of green spaces available to locals in different parts of Estepona.
The council had previously created another space between Calle Guillermo Cabrera and the A-7 measuring 7,400 square metres, which was planted out with 166 trees.
Estepona council is currently working on a series of plans to improve local services ahead of the summer, including opening registration for its summer sports programme which will take place across the municipality and offer various activities to locals who sign up for them.
