Technicians are sampling the spillage at Galúa beach in La Manga to determine if it is harmful
The General Directorate of the Environment opened an investigation on Wednesday August 17 to try to determine the origin and chemical composition of a water discharge into the Mediterranean Sea on Galúa beach in La Manga following several complaints from locals and the Municipal Citizen Movement Group (MC).The discharge is coming from just below the Hotel Galúa but initial reports from an Environment source indicate that “it does not seem like residual or polluting water” and that "it could be a discharge from the pool that is located just above, inside the hotel."The big fear, of course, is that pollutants may enter the water, posing a huge risk to marine life. For this very reason, the deputy spokesperson for MC, Jesús Giménez Gallo has requested that the regional and local administration to investigate the spill immediately.¿Está controlado este #vertido al #Mediterráneo @RM_Aguaâ“#LaManga #Cartagena
