ARCHIVED - Flamenco photography exhibition in Sevilla until September 15
The exhibition, ‘Portraits of Flamenco,’ is open at the Andalucian Institute of Flamenco in Sevilla.
As cultural attractions reopen across Andalucia, a new exhibition celebrating flamenco has opened in Sevilla.
The show, ‘Portraits of Flamenco,’ is displaying around 30 photographs by flamenco photographer Paco Sanchez at the Andalucian Institute of Flamenco.
The exhibition, which will be open until September 15, offers photos of some of Spain’s most famous flamenco performers, including Manuela Carrasco, Merche Esmeralda, Moraito, Manolo Sanlucar, and Antonio Fernández Diaz.
Journalist and photographer Paco Sanchez has published various books of his flamenco photography, including ‘The colour of flamenco dance’ or ‘Portraits of flamenco.’
The exhibition is open from 8 am to 3 pm and is part of a drive to celebrate Sevilla’s culture as well as to attract tourists to the city this summer.
Tourism to Sevilla also received a boost after it was announced that the air route between the city and Almeria would be expanded as traveller numbers increase after restrictions were eased in Andalucia and as attractions reopen in some of the region’s most popular cities.
