ARCHIVED - Fuengirola Bioparc offers free access for pensioners on May 20
The Fuengirola Bioparc will be free for pensioners to visit on Thursday, May 20.
In a bid to encourage visitors to come and learn about Fuengirola’s unique Bioparc animal reserve, the council is inviting all pensioners to visit for free.
The open day is part of the ‘Meet Bioparc’ scheme and aims to introduce older people to the park’s concept as a unique type of zoo which respects both nature and the animals it looks after.
Visits will be offered in a staggered way every 10 minutes to avoid too many people congregating, although visitors will be allowed to look around the reserve for as long as they want to. The council said there will also be hand sanitiser on offer and that the park will be complying with all health guidelines.
According to the council, those interested in taking part can now register until Wednesday, May 19 from 9.30 am to 1 pm at the Senior Citizens’ Office on Calle Blanca Paloma by showing their Fuengirola pensioners’ card.
The initiative is part of a bid to boost awareness of the Fuengirola Bioparc, a centre where animals live together as they would in their natural habitat, and which is dedicated entirely to the conservation of tropical species mainly from Asia, Africa and the Indo-Pacific islands.
