Got a local issue? Thousands of San Javier residents turn to LÃnea Verde app
Línea Verde offers a direct line to San Javier Town Hall to ask questions and raise concerns
Back in 2016, San Javier Town Hall introduced a clever tool to make local life a little greener and a whole lot easier:
the Línea Verde (Green Line) app. What started as a simple communication channel between residents and the local administration has now become an essential part of day-to-day life in the town, and the numbers speak for themselves. Since its launch, more than 43,000 incidents have been reported and 88% of them have already been resolved.
Residents are using Línea Verde to relay concerns about all sorts of issues. The most frequent enquiry relates to lighting in San Javier (14%), followed by parks and gardens (12%), public roads (9%), footpaths (8%) and general cleaning (7%). Locals have also used to app to communicate with the municipal authorities about pest management (6%), street signs and furniture (6%), La Manga beaches (5%) and lighting (4%).
Even issues like organic waste and water are getting the attention they deserve, all thanks to the quick and easy reporting system.

So how does it work? It’s as simple as downloading the free Línea Verde app from Google Play or the App Store. Once installed, just choose your town (in this case, San Javier), tap on ‘New Incident’, select the type of problem and let your phone do the rest.
The app automatically detects your location, so there’s no need to explain where you are. Add a quick photo and a short comment, then hit send. The Town Hall team gets the alert and you’ll be updated whenever there’s progress.
But Línea Verde isn’t just about reporting potholes or flickering lights. It’s also a great resource for eco-friendly tips, local environmental information and even expert advice. Got a question about recycling or sustainable gardening? Just use the ‘Ask your question’ feature and a specialist will reply within 24 hours, completely free of charge.
If you’d rather not use the app, you can still access the service through the website (
www.lineaverdesanjavier.es) or call the Línea Verde team at 902 193 768 on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
The service also keeps residents updated with news and notices from the Town Hall and even provides a handy guide to points of interest around the municipality.
