Temperatures are due to max out at 44ºC in parts of Andalucía this weekend, prompting orange weather warnings
Many parts of Spain are on yellow and even orange weather alert for extremely hot temperatures for at least the next three days, including Mallorca, Madrid, Catalonia and parts of western Andalucía like Seville and Cordoba.
Temperatures are set to rise in Spain as we approach the weekend, with a heatwave leaving highs of up to 44ºC predicted in Andalucía, and temperatures in excess of 40ºC in various other places.

Andalucía has already seen its first serious forest fire of the summer 2022 season, with a wildfire blazing through the countryside near Estepona, Marbella and Ronda on the Costa de Sol, forcing over 2,000 people to be evacuated from their homes.
People across the country are being urged to take precaution in this extreme weather episode, which is unlikely to be either the last or the hottest heatwave Spain experiences this summer.
