Heatwave red alert with more high temperatures on the way: Andalusia weather forecast June 26-July 2
It will be hot and sunny all week long, but the best chance of getting a good night’s sleep will be on Thursday and Friday when temperatures drop slightly
Andalucía weather warnings, Monday June 26
The heat has been oppressive in the south of Spain, but this week it looks set to ease off a bit, with the weather forecast for more hot and sunny weather, but not quite so hot.
After a weekend of sleepless nights thanks to the heatwave in Andalucía, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised its weather warning for extreme heat this Monday June 26 to its highest level, red, in Seville and Cordoba.
In these places, maximum temperatures during the daytime are expected to reach as high as 44ºC, and parts of Cordoba could feel similar heat on Tuesday and Wednesday too.
Elsewhere in the region, Granada, Jaén, Huelva and inland Cádiz are all on alert for temperatures in the high-30s. It is along the coast of Almeria and Malaga where the heat will be most bearable, with temperatures mainly staying around the low- to mid-30s.
From Thursday June 29, the temperatures will start to take a slight dip, except for those on the coast of Huelva and the Campo de Gibraltar which will rise. There will be variable light winds, tending to westerly.
Still, the ‘reprieve’ from the heat – if you can really call it that when it’s still in the 30-degree range – will be short-lived. On Saturday July 1, the temperatures will begin to climb once again, and may even hit 40ºC once again in the municipalities of Montoro and Andújar on the Cordoba-Jaén border.

- Wednesday June 28: Min 19ºC; Max 44ºC
- Thursday June 29: Min 19ºC; Max 40ºC
- Friday June 30: Min 18ºC; Max 37ºC
- Saturday July 1: Min 16ºC; Max 37ºC
- Sunday July 2: Min 17ºC; Max 40ºC
