ARCHIVED - Highest death rate since March 2021: Andalusia Covid update August 2
There were 72 deaths from Covid in Andalusia in the last three days, the highest number in over a year

The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs in Andalusia announced in its Covid-19 communiqué released this Friday that although there were more deaths from coronavirus in Andalusia in the last three days than in any other biweekly period since March 2021, hospitalisations and ICU patient admissions have fallen.
New infections
Andalusia has registered a total of 2,402 new cases of coronavirus since last Tuesday, of which 1,338 have occurred in people over 60, bringing the total number of infections in Andalusia since the start of the pandemic to 1,587,643.
This is almost 300 more new infections than at the last count.
Hospitalisations
Andalusia has recorded 39 fewer hospital admissions than last Tuesday, bringing the figure to 516, while admissions to intensive care units have fallen by one to 25.
Cumulative incidence rate
Regarding the current average incidence of infection in Andalusia in the last 14 days in people over 60 years of age, this has fallen to 226.64 points per 100,000 inhabitants, 32.84 points less than four days ago.
Deaths
The number of deaths has risen by 72, the highest figure since March 2021, to 14,805.
