ARCHIVED - Isolated storms and rainfall this weekend: Spain weather forecast August 25-28
Several provinces in Spain are on alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms and even hail in the coming days

After a summer marked by high temperatures and drought, one of the warmest on record, a subtropical DANA storm will affect a large part of the country over the weekend, with up to 13 provinces in the southeast and northeast of Spain on alert for rainfall and even hail in some areas.
The cold drop, which has swept in through the Balearic Islands will produce marked changes on Thursday August 25, with Aemet warning of showers and locally strong storms and hail in inland and coastal areas of Catalonia and the north of the Valencian Community.

On Friday August 26, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands are at significant risk of heavy rainfall and storms, while the Region of Murcia, Aragon, Andalucia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia and Madrid have all been issued with yellow warnings.
Day-time temperatures are on the decline for the most part, with the exception of the southwest of the country, where the valleys will easily exceed 35ºC.
The Balearic Islands remain on orange level alert for storms on Saturday August 27, while a yellow warning has been issued in Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia and the Valencian Community. It’s set to be be a cloudy or clear day, improving towards the afternoon, without ruling out showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon in mountainous areas.
Maximum temperatures increasing in the northwest and dipping slightly elsewhere. It is likely that 35ºC will still be reached in the valleys of the main south-westerly rivers, while night-time temperatures will drop for the most part, with the exception of the southern coasts.
Only Galicia remains on yellow alert for high temperatures on Sunday August 28 and although the unstable weather front will continue to make its presence felt, it will have little impact on the Mediterranean coastlines. There will be intervals of low cloud and morning mist in Galicia, Cantabria, Gulf of Cádiz and the interior southeast, developing into a more overcast afternoon with a chance of showers and storms in the Pyrenees and the Sierras of the southeast.
Very little change to the temperatures on Sunday, with the thermometers increasing slightly in eastern Spain and the Balearic Islands.
