January 10 The Nutcracker ballet at the seafront auditorium in Aguilas
The Kiev Ballet perform to Tchaikovsky’s music at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas
The Nutcracker is undoubtedly the world’s favourite Christmas ballet, and the action is set on Christmas Eve, when little Clara receives a nutcracker doll. The doll is brought to life by the magic of Christmas, along with all the festive sweeties and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The ballet was first performed in Saint Petersburg in 1892, with choreography by Marius Petipa and the score by Tchaikovsky, while the version presented here is adapted by María Giménez.
The show at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas on January 10 begins at 20.30. Tickets are available online here for 33 euros (including a 1-euro donation to UNICEF for aid in Ukraine), or alternatively at the local archaeological museum, the Casa de la Cultura and at the box office of the auditorium from 1 hour before the curtain rises.
