January 12 Nutcracker ballet in Aguilas
The dancers of the Kiev Ballet perform to the beloved music of Tchaikovsky at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas
The Nutcracker is undoubtedly the world’s favourite Christmas ballet, and the action is set on Christmas Eve, when little Clara receives a nutcracker doll. The doll is brought to life by the magic of Christmas, along with all the festive sweeties and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The ballet was first performed in Saint Petersburg in 1892, with choreography by Marius Petipa and the score by Tchaikovsky, while the version presented here is adapted by María Giménez.
This performance by the Kiev Ballet on January 12 in Águilas begins at 20.30 with tickets priced at 30 euros and available online here. The price includes a donation of 1.50 euros to be handed to UNICEF as they struggle to help the war-stricken country of Ukraine.
