Jet2 announces bumper summer schedule with flights from the Costa del Sol to 10 UK destinations
The airline will operate 70 flights a week at Malaga Airport, jetting 400,000 Brits to the south of Spain
Jet2.com will bolster its summer schedule by connecting Malaga Airport with ten British destinations via direct flights, peaking at an impressive 70 weekly operations. This represents a notable increase from last summer's maximum of 63 flights per week, underscoring the airline's confidence in the Costa del Sol's continued appeal.
The British airline is now the sixth largest carrier based at Malaga and the latest offerings mean around 400,000 tourists will jet off to the Andalucían region this summer – 8% more than the same period in 2023.
In the coming months, Jet2.com will offer seats between the Costa del Sol and Bristol, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, London-Stansted, East Midlands, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
And the carrier has just unveiled exciting plans to add a direct flight to Liverpool from Malaga in 2025, increasing its UK destinations to eleven.
Given the fact that the Costa del Sol is such an important destination for the UK airline, Jet2.com will boost seat capacity by 29,000 this coming summer, pushing Malaga Airport up the list to stand as the fourth among the 13 Spanish airports served by Jet2.com.
The airline's history in Spain dates back more two decades, when it launched its initial flight from Leeds to Malaga. Since then, Jet2.com has continually expanded its presence in the Costa del Sol, collaborating closely with Jet2holidays - the premier tour operator in the UK. Together, they have established partnerships with numerous hotels and resorts along the coast, totalling 120 hotels and 17 resorts last year alone.
