July 15 Free Carole Alston concert at the 2024 San Javier Jazz Festival
The exquisite vocalist performs live at the Puerto Tomás Maestre in La Manga del Mar Menor
The Financial Times has described the voice of American jazz, gospel and blues singer Carole Alston as “sweet and dark as cane honey” and she has had a long and successful career in the fields of both jazz and musical theatre. In her resumé are shows such as “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Kiss Me Kate”, “West Side Story” and “Trouble in Tahiti”, both under the direction of the legendary Leonard Berstein, who greatly admired Carole Alston.
Equally historic was her performance as a guest of the legendary Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra alongside José Carreras, and her full command of the jazz language and gospel and blues, accompanied by a quartet of extraordinary jazz musicians, guarantees a free concert in La Manga that raises the highest expectations.
Line-up
Carole Alston: vocals
Enric Peidro: tenor sax
Richard Busiakiewicz: piano
Ignasi Gonzalez: double-bass
Roger Gutiérrez: drums.
The ninth concert in the 26th edition of the San Javier Jazz festival begins at 22.00 at the Puerto Tomás Maestre in La Manga del Mar Menor. Admission is free of charge.
