July 16 Free concert by Gisele Jackson in La Manga as part of the 25th San Javier Jazz Festival

One of the great voices of soul blues at the Puerto Tomás Maestre in La Manga del Mar Menor

While she was still at college Gisele Jackson was already combining her studies with performances in Washington D.C. with her first classic soul band. She later toured with Ray Charles as one of his "Raelettes" and has also accompanied other legendary artists such as Donna Summer and James Brown, as well as singing at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton.

Her worldwide smash hit, the dance classic "Love Commandments," reached No. 3 on the Billboard dance and house music chart, and she has starred on stage in "Dream Girls," "The Life and Death of Bessie Smith" and "Carmen Jones." Accompanied in La Manga by her band The ShuShu’s, Gisele Jackson is truly one of the great voices of soul blues.

The concert at the Puerto de Tomás Maestre in La Manga begins at 22.30 with admission free of charge.
