June 14 Costume bathing and an early 20th century weekend of beach fun in San Pedro del Pinatar
The Modernists Association of Cartagena host a great day of fun historical re-enactment!
A highly original day of bathing and barbecues is being held by the Modernists Association of Cartagena on June 14 on the beach of Villananitos in San Pedro del Pinatar, with bathers invited to come along and enjoy a dip dressed in the typical beach attire of the early 20th century.
Various members of modernist associations from other parts of Spain will be in attendance and of course members of the general public are welcome to join the fun!
The day begins at 11.00 and includes organized bathing sessions, live music. dancing, fashion parades and of course plenty of great photo opportunities, as those taking part recreate scenes such as those made famous by painter Joaquín Sorolla (1863-1923), who is best remembered for his mastery at capturing the heat and light of the Mediterranean coastline of Spain in the first 20 years of the 20th century.
Anyone who is interested in being part of this great event should contact Los Modernistas de Cartagena de Levante by telephone on 722 293963!
