June 2 Artisan market of the Mar Menor in Santiago de la Ribera
The market is held on the seafront of the Explanada Barnuevo alongside the Mar Menor
Santiago de la Ribera in the municipality of San Javier usually hosts a bi-monthly artisan market, the Mercado Artesanal del Mar Menor, and the first such event takes place in June on the first Sunday of the month.
Around 25 stalls are open selling hand-made items from across the Region of Murcia, with a wide range of hand-crafted products, all from genuine regional artisans - as an added bonus it is in a seafront setting on the Explanada Barnuevo, making it an even more attractive proposition for a trip out followed by a coffee or a walk along the seafront.
The market is open from 10.00 until 14.00 and the stallholders on this occasion are Susana Hernández (natural cosmetics), Fran Bueno (handbags), Gloria Piñol (decoration), Aitor Águila (decoration), Conchi Soler (borsay), Dayli Hernández (accessories), Encarna Heredia (textiles), Fina Vidal (baby clothes), José A. Martínez (honey and beeswax), Marí Carmen Cerezo (herbal remedies), Eusebia Bolea (textiles), Orlando Puerto, Julio Cesar Cubre (sculpted figures), Wendi González, Dulces y repostería (confectioners from Caravaca), Isabel Lorca (paintings), Anna Gambín (recycled material), Natalia López (steel jewellery), Jesús Brocal (chocolate and confectionery), Luis Turiques (Colombian handicrafts), María Estefanía Turiques (textiles), Nico Nieto (engravings), Rocío González (macramé jewellery) and Wilson Aguilar (South American jewellery).
