ARCHIVED - Lorca postpones 2022 Carnival until June
Covid has forced the celebrations in Lorca, Murcia, to be pushed back
Yet another municipality has made the difficult decision to cancel their upcoming Carnival celebrations due to the high number of Covid cases in the Region of Murcia, as the Town Hall in Lorca is planning to postpone their Carnival 2022 celebrations until June.
The celebrations are going to be moved back to mid-June, when the epidemiological situation should have improved enough to enjoy the Carnival with very few or no Covid restrictions. The presentation of the 2022 Carnival characters is scheduled for June 10, while the Grand Parade is going to be celebrated on Saturday June 11.
Águilas, Cartagena and Los Alcázares are just a few of the other Murcia municipalities whose town halls have made the same decision to cancel or postpone their festivities this year in order to safeguard public health.
