ARCHIVED - Los Alcazares postpones 2022 Carnival until May 14
Covid has forced yet another Carnival cancellation in the Region of Murcia

Like many other municipalities in the Region of Murcia, the high number of Covid cases has led Los Alcázares to cancel their 2022 Carnival celebrations, which were supposed to be held on March 5.
The unfavourable evolution of the pandemic so far has forced the Town Hall to make the decision to postpone the event until May 14.
However, the municipal authorities have stated that the celebration of the Carnival will ultimately depend on what the Covid situation is like in May.
Several other Murcia municipalities have also postponed or suspended their Carnival festivities, including Águilas, Cartagena and San Pedro del Pinatar. Other towns and cities across Spain, such as Cádiz in Andalucía, are also following suit.
