Los Alcazares will have a new 1,500m2 park-and-ride car park
The new car park will be located in Los Narejos and will have a landscaped green area next door

A new park-and-ride facility will increase the number of free parking spaces in Los Alcázares. The Town Hall announced this Tuesday that work will begin in the coming weeks on a plot of land in Los Narejos, located between Avenida Mariano Ballester and Calle Río Nárcea, next to the Rio Nalón shopping area.
This plot of land has been completely fenced off and abandoned for years, which “sometimes causes problems of health and appearance”, in the words of the local ayuntamiento.
The work will consist of adapting the plot and installing lighting, signage and a vehicle counting system that will inform motorists of the number of spaces available. They also plan to remove the perimeter fencing and finish the pavements.
The car park will occupy an area of exactly 1,570.35 square metres out of a total of 16,089.13 square metres on the plot of land. The remaining 14,000-odd square metres will be used to create a recreational area and a green area.
“The construction of this park-and-ride car park is the first phase of a project that aims to create a leisure area next to the Avenida Río Nalón in Los Narejos for passive and active recreation for residents and visitors,” said Los Alcázares mayor Mario Pérez Cervera.
