Los Alcázares enjoys a hugely successful 4-day Fiesta of the Berber Pirate Raids

A series of festivals and events over the coming weeks keep the visitors flocking to Los Alcázares!

The annual Fiestas of the Berber Pirate Raids in Los Alcázares continues to grow in popularity year after year, and in 2025 the Town Hall reports that tens of thousands of people flocked to the 4-day medieval market and other events during the second half of Easter Week. T

This represents a pre-summer boost for the tourism sector of the local economy and due to a combination of the fine holiday weather and the range of historical re-enactments, parades, entertainment and Merry-making led to hotel and tourist accommodation occupancy in the municipality reaching over 90 per cent, with many establishments reporting full houses.

At the same time, of course, local bars and restaurants did a brisk trade as visitors from the Region of Murcia, other parts of Spain and indeed all over Europe headed for the shore of the Mar Menor. More visitors are expected this coming weekend for the Murcia tattoo convention and the OleFest, followed in early May by the Splash-In air show, in which there is great interest and for which the programme will be announced during this week!

Next year the fiestas reach their 25^th anniversary and plans are already being made for a special edition of the Fiestas de las Incursiones Berberiscas, further cementing its place as one of the most popular events during Semana Santa in the Costa Cálida.
