ARCHIVED - Madrid hosts first ever official Formula 1 exhibition
The “imaginative and immersive exhibition” will hit the Spanish capital in March
In a world first, the renowned IFEMA Madrid exhibition space will play host to a unique exhibition designed to completely immerse die-hard racing fans in the exciting world of Formula 1. Running from March 24 next year until July 16, the event promises to combine “the very best interactive and immersive technologies, never-been-seen interviews, historic race cars, artefacts and large-scale installations”.
Celebrating industry greats like Enzo Ferrari and Ayrton Senna and even exploring the unprecedented success of Netflix’s Drive to Survive series, the 90-minute experience aims to honour the sport’s incredible history and heritage in a dramatic and fun way.
“We are thrilled that this imaginative and immersive exhibition will debut in Madrid in March 2023 – I know it will become a must-see experience for every F1 fan,” Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1 President and CEO, said when the event was announced.

He added, “The opening of this spectacular exhibition marks a significant moment in the history of Formula 1. As the sport continues to grow at an exponential rate, it’s vital that our fanbase remains at the forefront of everything we do.
“Launching this world-class international exhibition allows more fans around the world to fall in love with F1.”
Tickets for the exhibition go on sale on December 1 but subscribers to the F1 mailing list will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets on November 29. Passes start at 19.99 euros with VIP packages also available.
Looking ahead to the highly-anticipated event, exhibition producer and commissioner Timothy Harvey said: “Selecting and producing the world’s first official Formula 1 exhibition has been a great honour. This show takes fans behind the curtain of Formula 1, providing a new range of fascinating perspectives and unexpected stories about the sport. We have been overwhelmed by the support of so many F1 teams.”
