Man found dead in Totana city centre
A passer-by discovered the body in a narrow street close to Totana town hall
A shocked pedestrian stumbled across the body of a seemingly unconscious man in the centre of Totana on Tuesday May 23 and called the Emergency Coordination Centre at 5.20pm. The passer-by told rescue workers that he found the man lying on the ground on Calle Mayor Seville, very close to the town hall.Emergency responders and local police officers were quickly on the scene and confirmed that the man, who they estimated to be around 58 years old, was not breathing and was bleeding from his nose.Paramedics tried for some time to revive the man but they were sadly unable to save his life, and a coroner was called to the area to confirm his death. An investigation has been opened into the tragedy but at the moment officers believe the man could have died as the result of a fall.Guardia Civil and Civil Protection patrols cordoned off the area and set up a tent to accommodate a forensic team, who thoroughly combed the accident site. The streets of Mayor Sevilla and Santiago in the city centre were also blocked off to traffic while the medical experts conducted their examination.Image: Ayuntamiento de Totana
