A 46-year-old man was seriously injured on Tuesday evening after falling into an empty swimming pool in Cieza.
Emergency services were contacted by the father of the injured man at 7:47 p.m., and a Mobile Emergency Unit with health personnel from the Urgency and Health Emergencies Management Service 061 was sent to the scene.
On arrival, and assessing the logistical difficulty of lifting the man out of the pool bottom, they called for assistance from firefighters belonging to the Murcia Region Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium who came to the scene and lifted the injured man out from the pool and into an ambulance.
After being stabilized at the scene by the health workers, the 46-year-old man was transferred to the critical care unit of the Hospital de la Vega Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza, with serious injuries.
