May 17 Free guided walk in the Cañaverosa nature reserve in north-west Murcia
Beauty on the banks of the River Segura between Moratalla and Calasparra
The Cañaverosa nature reserve was created in 1992 and occupies an area of approximately 225 hectares in the far north-west of the Region of Murcia, straddling the municipal boundary between Moratalla and Calasparra and following the course of the River Segura.
Starting at 10.00 and lasting approximately three and a half hours, this free guided walk is along a 5-km route described as being of medium difficulty (not recommended for under-9s), enjoying the best-preserved riverbank environment in the whole of the Region. Along the way information is given (in Spanish) about the local flora and fauna, which thrives during the warm spring, while all the while the quiet lapping of the river can be heard among the elm trees in the background.
Registration is available online here from 2nd May at 9.30.
