ARCHIVED - Mazarrón Mayor, Gaspar Miras opens MABS “Party in the Park” Music Festival

Mazarrón Mayor, Gaspar Miras accompanied by Councillor for Camposol and International Relations Silvana Buxton, get the party under way.

MABS' “Party in the Park”, their biggest fund raiser of the year, took place on Sunday afternoon at the Nueva Taberna in Mazarrón Country Club, where an audience of over 250 attended and were treated to music by 7 artists with musical styles ranging from Abba to Shirley Bassey, Country Rock to Rock Guitar and for those hungry for more there was Paella too!!

The event was opened by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, assisted by the Councillor for Camposol and International Relations, Silvana Buxton, who herself has first-hand experience of MABS' great work after her recent diagnosis of cancer.

During the opening the Mayor welcomed all attending and thanked them for their support for the wonderful work of MABS and saying how proud he is that they made Mazarron their home. MABS Treasurer and Vice President, Bev Thompson BEM responded.

As well as the Mayor and Councillor for Camposol, Mazarrón Councillors, Plácida Gómez, Raquel Raja and Francisco José García were also in attendance and jointly donated a large hamper for the prize raffle.

All the acts and comperes gave their time for free so 100% of the profits go to MABS in recognition of the fantastic work that MABS carry out on a daily basis for people diagnosed and suffering from all forms of cancer.
