Mazarron beaches awarded the Q 2024 award for their quality and sustainability
Mayor Ginés Campillo and the Councillor for Tourism, Andrés Aznar, collected the awards for quality during the Q Night held at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid
Within the framework of the FITUR celebration, during the Q 2024 Night organised by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) on Thursday January 25, at the Cibeles Palace in Madrid, Mazarrón Town Council was awarded the prestigious 'Q 2024 Award' for its commitment to quality in the exercise of its activity and the provision of customer service, as well as its commitment to sustainability. Recognition of the latter, that of sustainability, was also achieved by the Municipal Tourism Office.
Under the presidency of the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, and the president of the ICTE Miguel Mirones, the recognition was collected by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Tourism, Andrés Aznar. In his statement, Mayor Ginés Campillo expressed his gratitude and pride for the recognition.
"This award is a testimony to the collective effort and dedication of the government team and the entire society of Mazarrón to ensure that we offer high-quality and sustainable experiences to our visitors. It is an honor to be recognised nationally for our commitment to excellence in tourism," he said.
For his part, the Councillor for Tourism, Andrés Aznar, highlighted the importance of sustainability in the municipality's tourism strategy: "Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us; it is a practice that we integrate into all our activities," he said, adding "This award reinforces our determination to continue future tourism activities that respects and preserves our natural resources, thus guaranteeing a legacy for future generations."
The 'Q 2024 Award' recognises the tireless work of the Mazarrón Town Council in the continuous improvement and preservation of its tourist resources, with a special focus on the management of its beaches, a key attraction for national and international visitors.
