ARCHIVED - Mazarron reduces property tax for 2022
Property owners in Mazarrón, Murcia, will have a lower tax bill this year

The Town Hall in Mazarrón has reduced property tax, or Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles (IBI) in Spanish, for homeowners in the municipality.
A 3.57% reduction will be applied to the IBI in 2022, meaning that, if a family previously paid 500 euros, from this year onwards they will pay 482.14 euros, saving around 20 euros per annum.
Other discounts for large families, rustic properties owned by agricultural cooperatives, farms with technical or electrical use and more are still going to be applied in addition to the new rate.
This tax reduction has been made possible by the Treasury department and the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, with unanimous support from the municipal corporation. Mr Campillo has also stated that an even bigger reduction is already on the cards for 2023 as part of the plan to reactivate the municipality’s economy.
