Mazarrón to extend urban bus service to Camposol, Cañada de Gallego and El Alamillo
The Town Hall plans to improve public transport links for more than 20,000 residents with four new bus lines

The first new route will link the town centres of Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón. A second line will end in Cañada de Gallego, while a third will directly connect with Camposol, the municipality’s largest urbanisation. The fourth line will operate from Puerto de Mazarrón to Bolnuevo, passing through El Alamillo beach. Together, these routes are expected to serve over 20,000 residents living between Camposol and the three outlying areas.
The full implementation of the new services is still subject to approval from the Autonomous Community. However, the Town Hall has confirmed that work is already underway to advance the project. A technical assistance contract for drafting the necessary preliminary studies has been put out to tender, with the contract expected to conclude in June.
If regional procedures move forward as planned, the Council intends to tender the bus contract through an open procedure later this year. It is hoped that the regional government’s reports will be finalised by June, enabling the Council to award the service contract by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026.
Juan Carlos López Moreno, Councillor Delegate for Citizen Participation, Archives and Libraries and Animal Welfare, underlined the importance of the initiative.
“The objective is to improve the mobility of all the residents of Mazarrón, facilitating access to public transport and efficiently connecting our districts with the town centre,” he said. “We are working hard to make this service a reality in the shortest possible time. We are confident that it will contribute to improving the quality of life of our citizens.”
