ARCHIVED - Murcia has the fourth highest infection rate of healthcare workers in Spain
A damning study has revealed that 1,061 nurses and doctors have caught Covid in 2022 so far
Murcia has the dubious honour of being the Spanish region with the fourth highest number of healthcare workers infected with Covid, according to a study by the Valencia College of Nursing.
In the last two weeks, 1,061 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals in Murcia have caught the virus, making it the autonomous community with the fourth highest infection rate behind Galicia (1,965), Navarra (1,891) and Aragón (1,149).
The effect of the sixth wave of the pandemic has led to an increase in the number of infected people never seen before in the Region, which saw 7,291 new cases in the last day alone. This increase in the number of cases, which has left 44,774 people currently in self-isolation, has pushed health centres and hospitals to the limit.
