Murcia heat warning this Wednesday afternoon
The centre of the Region is on alert for temperatures of up to 38ºC
A rise in maximum temperatures this Wednesday July 3 has led Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) to issue a yellow weather warning for the Region of Murcia, as well as six other provinces around the country.
Specifically, the highest temperatures in Murcia today will be recorded in the centre of the Region, and especially in the northern half of the Vega del Segura, where it is forecast to reach up to 38ºC in the shade in Cieza.
In other parts of central Murcia, including the City of Murcia, Aemet are predicting temperatures of 37ºC. Minimum temperatures will not change much.
The yellow warning issued by the Aemet will be in effect from 1pm to 9pm.
This Wednesday will also be a day with clear skies – with the exception of morning mist in the Campo de Cartagena – and only very light winds, meaning it will feel very hot. It is recommended to avoid being out in the street in the middle of the day to avoid the peak hours.
Also under a high temperature weather warning this Wednesday are the provinces of Cádiz, Cordoba, Huelva, Jaen and Seville (all in Andalucía) and Badajoz (Extremadura). In addition, Girona and Menorca in the northern Mediterranean will be under a warning for strong winds and high waves.
