Murcia nears 35 degrees as temperatures rise again
While in areas such as Murcia and Lorca the thermometers will reach 33-34ºC, on the coast the temperatures will remain below 30ºC
The maximum temperatures will rise this Wednesday, June 5, in many parts of mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. In the Region of Murcia, it will be close to 35ºC (95ºF), according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
In municipalities such as Murcia capital, Alcantarilla and Las Torres de Cotillas the thermometers will reach 34 degrees today, while in Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca in the west the maximum temperature during the day will hit 33ºC. In the north of the Region, around Yecla, it will be as hot as 32ºC.
In coastal areas, while the maximum temperatures will also rise, they will not get over 30ºC — in Cartagena it will reach 29ºC, in San Pedro del Pinatar 27ºC and in San Javier 28ºC.
In other areas of Spain, it is forecast to be even hotter. Aemet forecasts that Seville and Córdoba will record temperatures of 37ºC this Wednesday.
For the weekend, however, showers and thunderstorms are predicted across much of the country, including rain in Murcia.
