Murcia weather forecast July 17-23: Another baking-hot, 46-degree week
The scorching summer temperatures refuses to release their hold on southern Spain
Murcia weather warning, Wednesday July 19
The extreme temperatures that are gripping Spain, Italy and Greece show no sign of letting up, and it has the Region of Murcia firmly in its grasp. This week it will be very hot and sunny again, but cloudier than the last couple of weeks, which should provide some brief respite.
This Monday July 17, the west of the Region – including Lorca, Águilas, Totana, Caravaca de la Cruz and Bullas – are on yellow alert for heat between 1pm and 9pm, while on Tuesday 18 this weather warning will be extended with an orange warning for central and northern Murcia for the risk associated with temperatures in excess of 40ºC.
By Wednesday 19, this heat warning will have changed to orange for the entire Region, with the exception of the area around Cartagena and Mazarrón, which will be on yellow alert for temperatures that “could occasionally exceed 39ºC in inland areas” (pictured above).
The temperatures take a slight dip on Thursday 20 and Friday 21, but not enough to say it will be ‘cooler’ by any stretch of the imagination. That just means the maximum temperatures during the day will drop below 40ºC.
Light variable winds are on the cards for this week, and it shouldn’t be too blustery at any point.

- Tuesday July 18: Min 20ºC; Max 41ºC
- Wednesday July 19: Min 22ºC; Max 46ºC
- Thursday July 20: Min 23ºC; Max 39ºC
- Friday July 21: Min 20ºC; Max 38ºC
- Saturday July 22: Min 18ºC; Max 37ºC
- Sunday Jul-y 23: Min 20ºC; Max 38ºC
