ARCHIVED - New Atlantic storm brings more rain to Spain: weather outlook March 28-31
Drier weather and warmer temperatures are expected across Spain towards the end of the week
The weather during this final stretch of March will continue to be unstable in a good number of Spanish regions, and yet another Atlantic storm that formed off the coast of the Canary Islands on Sunday March 27 will travel up through the southwest of the peninsula early this week, arriving from the Gulf of Cádiz and creating several days of widespread rain.
Monday March 28
The washing baskets have no doubt been piling up across much of the country and meteorologists predict that Monday will be the best day to get the laundry out, with dry weather and stiff breezes forecast for most of the country, with the exception of the Canary Islands.
However, the south and west coasts, namely Extremadura, Andalucía, Ceuta and western Castilla-La Mancha may well catch the earliest part of the Atlantic storm on Monday afternoon.
Weather Warnings:
Andalucía: orange alert for wind and coastal phenomena
Ceuta and Melilla: yellow alert for coastal phenomena
Tuesday March 29
Instability will return to the peninsula from Tuesday and the widespread rains will make another appearance.
Temperatures will drop and the probability of rain will spread to the rest of the peninsula and also the Balearic Islands.
The heaviest rains on Tuesday are expected in the afternoon, but the entire country can expect showers and occasional storms.
Weather Warnings:
Andalucía: orange alert for coastal phenomena
Region of Murcia and Melilla: yellow alert for coastal phenomena
Wednesday March 30
Wednesday is predicted to be another wash-out across all of Spain, although heavy showers are less likely in the Canary Islands. Day-time temperatures will increase noticeably across Spain.
Thursday March 31
The rainfall is expected to begin to subside from Thursday, and meteorologists predict that as March gives way to April, the end of the week will be considerably drier than the beginning.
