New ecological walkway connects Playa Honda and Villas Caravaning in Cartagena
Sustainable coastal path improves mobility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists

With an investment of more than €220,000, the 400-metre stretch addresses long-standing issues such as uneven terrain and persistent puddles, which made passage difficult—especially during the busy summer months. Mayor Arroyo highlighted that the project "responds to the real needs of the thousands of people who pass through here throughout the year, but mainly during the summer period."
The completion of the walkway comes after previous setbacks that delayed the project due to technical issues. Now, built using environmentally friendly materials, the route not only improves accessibility but also revitalises a key area with heavy foot traffic. As part of the next phase, 24 lighting columns will be installed to further enhance safety and visibility for residents and visitors.
