ARCHIVED - Nine of 12 most wanted UK criminals believed to be hiding in Spain still on-the-run
Three fugitives on Britain's most wanted list have been arrested in the last week, including a teen killer detained on the Costa del Sol
The hunt goes on for nine of the UK's most wanted criminals believed to be hiding out in Spain following the arrests of three fugitives in the last week.
Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA) and Spanish officials recently launched a joint appeal for information to help catch a dozen of Britain's most wanted suspects, who it's feared have fled to Spain.
Ungi, who was in possession of a 9mm Ruger firearm when he was caught, fled the UK hours after the teenager was killed by a single shot from a car window as he was riding on the back of a bike.
He is now awaiting extradition to the UK.
According to the National Crime Agency (NCA), another criminal, Alex Male, 29, was thought to have gone on the run to Marbella in January of this year to escape justice having been accused of drug charges and money laundering. He was stopped at Lisbon airport after returning from Turkey where he had been refused entry and also faces extradition to the UK.
Joshua Hendry has been arrested in San Pedro, Marbella and will now face charges of trafficking heroin and cocaine from Liverpool for distribution in the UK.
Police are appealing for help locating the remaining suspects believed to be at large in Spain:
1. Benjamin MacCann, 41, is suspected of drug trafficking in the Norfolk area of the UK. He is wanted for conspiracy to supply cocaine and is thought to be in the Barcelona area.
2. Jack Mayle, 30, is wanted for his involvement in the supply of MDMA, methylphenidate (a pharmaceutical drug), and diazepam. Allegedly, the heavily tattooed suspect ran a drug line in South London and Surrey called the Flavour Quest. He's believed to be in the Marbella area and has a tattoo reading 'Croydon' on his left forearm.
3. Asim Naveed, 29, is suspected of being involved in a criminal organisation trafficking class A drugs worth almost £8m into Wales in 2020. He is described as being 6ft 2in tall, of muscular build with a surgical scar on his left wrist.
4. Calvin Parris, 32, is connected to Asim Naveed and is accused of selling cocaine in Cardiff. He has gold upper teeth.
5. John James Jones, 31, is wanted for allegedly stabbing two people multiple times causing serious injuries. He immediately fled the UK after the stabbings and has links to Madrid and Ibiza.
6. Nana Oppong, 41, is wanted for the drive-by-killing of grandfather Robert Powell, 50, in Essex who was shot eight times in June 2020. From east London, Oppong is believed to be in the Marbella area.
7. Callum Michael Allen, 23, has links to Alicante and Marbella and is sought for drug dealing, affray, assaulting an emergency worker and dangerous driving.
8. Dean Garforth, 29, is allegedly involved in a well-established organised crime group supplying significant quantities of cocaine and cannabis and in trading firearms and ammunition.
9. Mark Francis Roberts, 28, from Liverpool is wanted for grevious bodily harm and attempted robbery in 2016.
Anyone with information on any of these fugitives is urged to call Crimestoppers anonymously in the UK on 0800 555 111 or from Spain on 900 926 111, or online at crimestoppers-uk.org/fugitives
