ARCHIVED - No quarantine for vaccinated travellers to England, and day-2 LFTs replace PCR
There are new travel rules for going to England on January 7 and 9, including removing pre-departure tests
The rules for travelling to England from another country are changing again this week. As of 4am on Friday January 7, fully vaccinated people arriving in England won’t have to take a pre-departure test or self-isolate on arrival, providing they test negative for Covid-19.
Within 2 days of arriving in England, the current rules state that everyone must take a PCR test, to be booked before the journey starts. However, from 4am on Sunday January 9 this is being changed to a lateral flow test (LFT).
It will be possible to book a day-2 LFT for travel to England from January 7.
If the result of this rapid test is positive, you must self-isolate and take a PCR test.
