November 8 and 9 Trail Running Festival in Galifa and El Portús
A weekend of hiking, trail running and supplementary family activities in the countryside of Cartagena
The Town Hall of Cartagena has announced a new sports event, the Trail Running Festival Cartagena Costa Cálida, which will be held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November in the villages of Galifa and El Portús. In the west of the municipality.
The main events are the inaugural edition of the “Cross Trail El Portús” on the Saturday and the 6th annual “Trail Sendero del Agua” on the Sunday in Galifa, with registration now available online here, while other activities will also be held for the rest of the family, particularly children.
The route for the Cross Trail El Portús covers a distance of 9.5 km with 200 metres of climb and descent, starting at the Camping El Portús and passing Las Escarihuelas, Los Díaz and Los Corteses. As for the Trail Sendero del Agua, this is a sterner test over a distance of 16 km with more than 800 metres of climb and descent.
A hiking option is also offered on the Sunday over a route of 9 km.
The campsite of El Portús is collaborating with the organizers, with bungalows and apartments available for rent as well as camping plots, and a discount can be applied by using the code TRAIL2025 when booking on the site’s website (www.elportus.com).
