11 municipalities will take part in the festivities, including Yecla, Caravaca de la Cruz and Jumilla

October 25-27 Rueda Tourism Fair showcases the best of inland Murcia
The Region of Murcia is gearing up to hold its first ever Inland Tourism Fair, ‘Rueda’, from October 25 to 27 in Totana. The event aims to showcase the Region's rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes and delicious gastronomy.

According to the director of the Tourism Institute (Itrem), Juan Francisco Martínez, the fair will offer a unique experience for visitors, with a focus on four key pillars: nature and active tourism, crafts, gastronomy and culture.

Each of the 11 participating municipalities will have its own promotional space, showcasing its tourism potential through food and cooking workshops, tastings, craft workshops, raffles, outdoor activities and other experiences.

Taking pride of place at the first edition of Rueda will be representatives from Aledo, Cieza, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Jumilla, Lorca, Mula, Totana, Moratalla, Yecla and Archena.

The event is part of the Region's strategy to promote inland tourism, which includes the development of exciting alternatives to the already booming sun and beach holiday trend. The goal is to reduce seasonality, boost tourist flows off season, enhance the Region's competitiveness and modernise the tourism model.

Rueda fair will be held in two privileged locations: the Sierra Espuña Regional Park and the Plaza de la Constitución in Totana’s old town. Both spaces will be connected by shuttle bus and tourist train.

The overarching aim of this new event is to promote and publicise the wide range of tourist possibilities offered by the interior of the Region at any time of the year.

This event is organised by the 'Murcia Rueda' Association, and has the support of the Regional government and the Town Council of Totana.
