Opening of new weekly street market in Las Terrazas de la Torre delayed
The fruit & veg market was supposed to run every week during the summer
The opening of a new street market selling fresh fruit and vegetables that was due to start this week at Las Terrazas de la Torre golf resort will be delayed, perhaps indefinitely, following issues with the legality of the placing of the market.
The market was due to take place between 7am and 3pm every Friday this summer, starting this Friday June 7, in the car park of Spanglish Bar in Las Terrazas.
However, the organisers do not currently have permission from the Town Hall in Torre Pacheco to put up the market in the Square in Las Terrazas, though they are still in discussions about securing it.
Organisers said, “It’s the owner of the plot who wants to go further to apply for the licence. We are now talking with the community, and hope to get all done by the end of July.”
