Parque de la Constitución, Yecla
An important central park area used for public events in Yecla
The Parque de la Constitución is the most important public garden and public park space in Yecla, and has
been so since it was first constructed.
It was known as “el jardín" or "la Glorieta", the latter being the name by which it was known for decades.
The park was first built in 1867, documentation about the various plants contained within it was first produced in the 1960’s and between 1999 and 2002 a full census was undertaken to catalogue all of the species and implement a programme to care and maintain the wealth of plants and trees contained within it.
The park continues to be an important focal point for activities within the town and as well as being a cool shaded place in which to escape from the summer heat, is also the venue for a number of cultural and public activities and fiestas.
