ARCHIVED - Peed off: Ryanair flight to Spain diverted when drunk passenger urinated on seat
The “wild” passenger dropped his trousers and urinated in an empty seat aboard a Manchester-Tenerife flight

A busy Ryanair flight from Manchester to Tenerife was forced to divert to the Portuguese island of Porto Santo when a drunk and unruly passenger refused to stay in his seat and ended up urinating.
The pilot had no choice but to make an emergency landing en route to Tenerife when the tipsy tourist ignored crew member instructions since he was too far “gone”, having hit the airport bar hard when the flight was delayed in the UK.
One passenger described the ordeal: “The flight was delayed at Manchester Airport so there was more drinking time.
“Usually when you get on a delayed flight, the first thing you hear is the captain and cabin crew welcoming you on board and apologising for the delay.
“But straight away the first announcement on the system was ‘anyone found drinking their own alcohol or smoking in the toilets will be dismissed from the plane and if needs be we’ll divert’, so they were aware of this passenger straight away.
“The guy was just wild. He was very drunk and was up and down out of his seat and was told to sit down loads of times.
“Eventually, he wanted to go to the toilet but he was told no, so he stood up and there was an empty seat adjacent to him and he just revealed himself and had a wee on the seat.”
Local police were waiting for the rowdy passenger when the plane touched down in Portugal and he was escorted off the aircraft by the officers.
Other travellers praised Ryanair’s flight attendants for how well they handled the tricky situation, which is, unfortunately, becoming all too common. Earlier this month it was revealed that a 55-year-old Leeds man was jailed for two months after he assaulted an airport staff member who refused to let him board because he was intoxicated.
