Plaza de los Apostoles, Murcia

Plaza de los Apostoles, Murcia

Plaza de los Apóstoles, Murcia

This Plaza de los Apóstoles is behind the main Cathedral in Murcia and Plaza Belluga and is used as a venue for cultural concerts and events, as well as being a principal pedestrian transit area.

On one side of the plaza is the main dance school in Murcia, the Escuela superior de arte dramático y danza and on the other is the Cathedral, the plaza alongside the rear entrance to the building. This is accessed via the puerta de los Apóstoles, the entry door of the apostles after which the plaza is named, although this is normally closed, with the principal access to the cathedral around the front of the building in Plaza Belluga.

It’s a small plaza, with a central water feature, the remaining sides occupied by shops and cafés, and is sometimes used for concerts and cultural performances.

Plaza de los Apostoles, Murcia

The easiest parking for the plaza de los Apóstoles is the underground parking of La Glorieta which is opposite the town hall, and Glorieta, on the riverbank. Driving off the main ringroad into the centre of Murcia, this carpark is on the right hand side immediately past the main Puente vieja, old bridge, just past the gardens which occupy the right hand side of the road driving into the centre.

The car park pedestrian exit comes up into the Glorieta, the gardens in front of the town hall, and from here walk through the central passageway into the main plaza in front of the cathedral, and bear right around the back of the cathedral to the Plaza de los Apóstoles.
