Quake measuring 3.1 registered in the sea off Murcia and Alicante this Tuesday
The coast of Torrevieja saw a 3.1-magnitude seaquake
There was seismic movement under the sea off the coast near Murcia and Alicante this Tuesday December 10, measuring a middling 3.1 magnitude on the Richter scale.
Sources from Spain’s National Geographic Institute (IGN) reported that the ‘seaquake’ occurred at 10.52am, with its epicentre located at a depth of eight kilometres offshore, 24 kilometres from Torrevieja (Alicante) and 53 kilometres from Cabo de Palos (Murcia).
As yet, the 112 Emergency Services have not received any calls related to the quake.
