ARCHIVED - Region of Murcia increases direct routes to hospitals with over 100,000 buses per year
Alhama de Murcia, Torre Pacheco, Los Alcázares, Fuente Álamo and more will all have more bus routes to the Region’s hospitals
Public transport connections between residential areas and hospitals in the Region of Murcia are going to be increased by over 100,000 additional buses per year.
Patients and their family members, as well as hospital staff, will have more frequent and direct routes to hospitals across the Region of Murcia thanks to the Movibus interurban bus model.
Municipalities bordering the capital city, such as Molina de Segura and Alcantarilla, will have two new direct routes to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital, totalling 12,926 trips per year. Alhama de Murcia is also going to be linked to this hospital with four daily buses, two each way.
Likewise, Beniel and Santomera are going to be connected to the Reina Sofía hospital, also in Murcia city, via three different routes.
The Morales Meseguer hospital will also have several more bus links to the municipalities of Molina de Segura, Lorquí, Ceutí, Alguazas and Las Torres de Cotillas.
Residents in the Cartagena and Mar Menor area have not been forgotten either, and municipalities including San Pedro, San Javier, Los Alcázares, Torre Pacheco, Fuente Álamo and La Unión are all going to have more public transport links with the three main hospitals in the area: Santa Lucía and Santa María del Rosell in Cartagena and Los Arcos del Mar Menor in San Javier.
Outlying districts, such as Roldán in Torre Pacheco and Santiago de la Ribera in San Javier, can also expect additional routes to the Los Arcos hospital this year. The Town Hall in Torre Pacheco has also recently announced another new bus line which will provide transport between the town and several of its most populated outlying districts.
